Custom Flintknapping Tools (CFT) offers a full range of weight forward copper percussion tools.

• These tools are NOT copper boppers!
• We call them "hafted billets." They are SOLID COPPER billets with U. S. oak handles. (the term "hafted billets" is the exclusive property of CFT)
• They have the advantages of boppers but not their shortcommings.
• The smaller tools (7/8" dia.) are designed to thin and shape preforms.
• The larger tools (1 1/8" dia.) are designed to reduce nodules and large spalls to preforms.
• Our largest percussion tool (1 1/2" dia.) is designed to drive of the large flakes so important to producing thin points.

We also offer spalling hammers.

• These copper hammers weigh about 1.75  pounds.

• They are fitted with stained and sealed oak handles.
• These tools are light weight hammers for removing spalls; they are NOT designed to reduce large boulders.
• This is a NEW item which is cheaper than our earlier hammer. Please look at the pictures.

We are introducing a travel kit. This item is also a good choice for beginners. Please check out the Products Page for pictures. This kit includes the following: 

• 5/8" micro percussion flaker,
• 7/8" percussor,
• 1 1/8" percussor,
• two pressure flaking tips (one soft iron, one copper),
• pressure tool holder in handle of the 1 1/8" percussor, and
• compact plastic box (9"x5"x1.25") to carry these tools.
